Bio
I've taken a roundabouot path to creative writing and editing. I earned a BA in Geology from Smith College in 2007, along with a minor in Philosophy. I received my MSc in Geology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010, then a PhD in Geology with a minor in Chemistry from the same institution in 2014. For several years, I worked as a postdoc and geology lecturer. In 2020 I got COVID, which led to ME/CFS (chronic fatigue) and POTS (postural orthostatic tachychardia syndrome). Unable to work full-time, I now write and beta-read when my health allows.

I've done field work in places as varied as the Dominican Republic and Antarctica. Traveling for research has given me an appreciation for landscape that comes through in most of my creative writing. I've always loved editing and worked for a time with American Journal Experts, editing journal articles for English-learning scientists.
